Periodic testing and inspection is an important aspect of ensuring the safety and compliance of electrical systems in the United Kingdom. As per the BS 7671, it is a legal requirement that all electrical installations in commercial and industrial buildings, as well as rental properties and common areas of houses in multiple occupation, must be inspected and tested at regular intervals, usually every 5 years for commercial properties and every 10 years for domestic properties. This process is known as Periodic Inspection and Testing (PIT). The aim of PIT is to ensure that the installation is safe and does not pose a risk to the people using it, or to the property itself. The frequency of inspection and testing may be more frequent if the installation is considered to be in a high risk environment or if the installation is showing signs of deterioration. Our qualified electricians will carry out the inspection and testing, and will provide a detailed report of the findings and any necessary recommendations for repairs or upgrades. This report will also indicate if the installation is considered to be in a satisfactory condition or not.
